The brief

Calorie tracking works — the science is boring and settled. What fails is the software: subscription apps stuffed with ads, upsells and social feeds, where logging lunch takes eleven taps and the features you paid for disappear behind next month's paywall. CalorieFlow was built as the antidote, on a model the category almost never uses: pay once, own it forever.

That model creates a real product constraint. With no recurring revenue to defend, the app has to win on being genuinely pleasant and fast — every screen justified by daily use, not by engagement metrics.

What we built

Friction-free tracking
A logging flow optimised for the hundredth use, not the demo — including saved plates, so the meals you actually eat on repeat are one tap to log.
TDEE & targets engine
Built-in TDEE calculation that turns activity and goals into a daily calorie target — the arithmetic handled by the app, not a spreadsheet on the side.
Buy-once purchase flow
A one-time purchase model, engineered end to end — clean checkout, lifetime access, no subscription machinery between the user and the product.
Progress that motivates
Clear tracking of intake and trajectory over time — designed to reassure and steer rather than gamify and guilt.

The stack

Where it landed

CalorieFlow is live at calorieflow.app with its promise intact: no ads, no subscription, no dark patterns — the kind of consumer product you can only build when every screen is designed for the person who already paid, not the one being converted.
