Supabase
developers

Supabase gives a startup the backend of a scale-up: Postgres, auth, storage and realtime out of the box. We build products on it that launch in weeks, not quarters.

Supabase development at ZeroPixel

Supabase is an open-source backend platform built around PostgreSQL — the world's most trusted database — with authentication, file storage, realtime subscriptions and auto-generated APIs included. For a new product, it replaces months of backend plumbing with configuration, which is why it's become the default choice for fast-moving teams. It's part of ZeroPixel's own production stack.

The catch nobody mentions: Supabase makes it easy to start and just as easy to start wrong. Row Level Security policies, database design, and query patterns decide whether your product is secure and fast at ten thousand users — and they're exactly the parts the quick-start tutorials skip. That's the gap we fill.

We build complete products on Supabase — Next.js frontends over a properly designed Postgres schema, RLS policies that actually enforce your access rules, and realtime features where they earn their place. And because Supabase is open-source Postgres underneath, you're never locked in: your data is yours, exportable, forever.

What we build on Supabase

Supabase shines where products need real backends on startup timelines — these four shapes come up most.

SaaS

SaaS products

Multi-tenant products with accounts, teams, billing and dashboards — a complete backend without a backend team.

Realtime

Realtime applications

Live dashboards, presence, notifications and collaborative features on Supabase's realtime engine.

Portals

Client & member portals

Secure logged-in areas — documents, bookings, member content — with Row Level Security enforcing who sees what at the database itself.

Data apps

Data-backed tools

Search, dashboards and AI features over your data, using Postgres full-text search and pgvector for embeddings.

Why hire ZeroPixel for Supabase work

We know where the sharp edges are
RLS policies that leak, queries that collapse under load, auth flows that break on edge cases — we've hit these in production so your users don't. Security review of policies is standard on every build.
Postgres depth, not just Supabase breadth
Supabase is Postgres. Schema design, indexing and query planning are what make it fast at scale, and that's database engineering — the part of our job that predates the platform.
Honest about fit
Supabase is superb for most products and wrong for some. If your workload needs something else — heavy analytics, unusual compliance, exotic scale — we'll tell you before you've spent anything.

Supabase — common questions

What is Supabase, in business terms?

It's the backend of your product as a managed service: a real PostgreSQL database, user accounts, file storage and live updates, ready on day one. Practically, it means a product that would have needed months of backend development can be in users' hands in weeks — without accumulating the fragility that shortcuts usually bring.

Is Supabase production-ready for a real business?

Yes — it runs enormous production workloads and is built on Postgres, the most battle-tested open-source database there is. What makes the difference is how it's used: proper schema design, tested Row Level Security policies, and monitoring. Configured well, it's as reliable as backends costing ten times more to build.

Supabase or Firebase?

Supabase in most cases, for one big reason: it's real SQL on open-source Postgres, so complex queries stay possible and your data is portable forever. Firebase's document model gets painful exactly when products get interesting — relationships, reporting, search. If you're already deep in the Google ecosystem there are cases for Firebase, and we'll be straight about them.

Can you rescue or scale an existing Supabase project?

Yes — this is increasingly common. The usual pattern: a product built fast on Supabase, now slow or leaking data between users. We audit the schema, policies and queries, fix the security holes first, then the performance. Most projects are fixable in place without a migration.

What does a Supabase build cost?

A complete MVP — Next.js frontend, Supabase backend, auth, payments — is typically a mid-four-figure project on a fixed written quote. Supabase's own hosting starts free and grows with usage, which we set out transparently. It's one of the most capital-efficient ways to get a real product to market.

Beyond Supabase

A stack is a set of choices that have to work together — these are the pieces we most often pair with Supabase, and where we do it.
