React or Next.js — which do I need?
Next.js is React plus the infrastructure around it: routing, server rendering, SEO. If you're building anything with public pages that should rank on Google, you want React inside Next.js. Plain React (with Vite) fits interfaces that live behind a login, embedded widgets, or browser extensions. We build both and will recommend the right one for your case rather than the fashionable one.
Can you work with our existing React codebase?
Yes. We start with a code review and give you a straight assessment — what's solid, what's risky, what it costs to fix versus rebuild. Then we work inside your repository, your conventions and your CI, or set those up if they don't exist. Most codebases are salvageable; we'll tell you honestly when one isn't.
How much does React development cost in the UK?
Focused pieces of work — a dashboard, an interactive tool, a frontend for an existing API — are typically four-figure projects; complete product frontends are quoted on scope. Always a fixed written quote before we start. We're senior-only, which costs more per hour and reliably less per project.
Do you also do the design, or just the build?
Both. Most clients come to us with an idea rather than finished designs, so UI/UX design is part of the service — wireframes, visual design, then the React build, all from one team. If you already have designs from your own designer, we build to them faithfully.
Will our team be able to maintain what you build?
That's a design goal from day one. TypeScript, consistent patterns, tests where they earn their keep, and documentation written for the next developer rather than for show. We also offer ongoing support retainers if you'd rather we stay on — but you're never forced to.
